The fact is, the Glock 17 got its name because it represented the 17th patent procured by Gaston Glock’s company. And that’s why the Glock model numbers don’t have anything to do with size, chambering, or anything else that resembles logic. The Glock 19 Gen4 MOS (modular optic system) was actually designated by SOF as the Mk27 MOD 2 pistol. It is not a smooth trigger pull compared to most triggers its competitors offer. Yet, this design has potential drawbacks compared to the traditional grooved rifling-type barrels. These potential drawbacks are primarily the cost and higher difficulty level during production. If produced correctly, though, polygonal rifling is considered superior to traditional grooved rifling.
For decades the Glock 19 has been considered the carry gun against which all others should be judged, and it is still an excellent choice. Reliable, low bore (for less muzzle rise), light weight, and 15+1 capacity are a great combination. Additionally, the magazine release is quite small and annoying. It’s tough to reach and does require some twisting of the wrist. The slide release is also quite small but functional enough.

Shooters can manage longer strings of fire and deliver those rounds accurately on target. The 1.25-inch width of the Glock grip feels wide, but that width helps the gun dissipate recoil in a comfy and controllable manner. The firearm features a 4.02-inch barrel with an overall length of 7.36 inches. The gun weighs about 30 ounces fully loaded with 15 rounds of 9mm. The gun is 1.25 inches wide at its widest and is 5.04 inches tall. That brings me to my next point – you can use a 17 rd or 33rd mag in the Glock 19, and it will feed and function fine.
