Why is the Glock 19 pistol the favorite of the worlds most elite forces?

Plus, this model features a new and improved handguard design developed to be Glock 17 vs Glock 19 robust and rigid for accessories like an IR laser/illuminator which need to retain zero. The handguard surrounds a Cold Hammer Forged and Chrome lined barrel for a long service life. To find out more about Aero Precision’s new M4E1 Pro Rifle visit aeroprecisionusa.com. It’s easy to see why the Glock brand has evolved and changed over the generations.

Shooting a few thousand rounds with your G19 will also pay trigger-smoothness dividends. The 15+1 capacity is respectable for a duty weapon and very nice for a compact carry pistol. If you adopt an advisable practice and carry at least one spare magazine, that gives you 31 rounds; likely plenty for even a messy firefight, should your life prove to be so dramatic. I further recommend that you consider this pistol because it thoroughly blurs the line between concealed-carry and duty pistols. It is both a practical shooter with good capacity for home defense or duty carry and it is easily concealable for civilian daily carry. Cons Same old plastic sights, same old odd back strap shape.

But the most important aspect of its size is this—it is just big enough for almost everybody to get their entire hand on the grip. That, more than anything else, makes the gun easier to aim and shoot and control. The biggest downside to the Glock 19 for me is ergonomics. I have big hands, and with a high grip, the web between my thumb and pointer finger gets a nice little strike from the Glock 19’s slide. If you give me enough trigger pulls, it begins to break the skin, which is irritating.

From CCW to home defense, they are plenty of gun for most circumstances. For me, the tech specs and construction methods are not as important as how the firearm performs. My introduction to the platform was during my military career.

The trigger guard is squared off and checkered on all models. The frame features a grip angle of 109 degrees, somewhere between a 1911 and a Luger. The Glock 19X actually spawned a new line of guns that pair longer grips with shorter slides, like the subcompact Glock 43X and the Glock 45, which Glock calls “crossover” models. Glock also produces single-stack “slimline” models, targeting the concealed carry market. The first was introduced with Gen 3 in .45 ACP as the Glock 36. More recently, after the introduction of Gen 5, came the Glock 42 in .380 ACP, followed by the Glock 43 in 9mm Parabellum.

The Ruger Security 9 uses a hammer to strike the firing pin and discharge the gun. The good news is, the Security 9 does not require pulling the trigger Glock 19 For Sale before you disassemble the gun. The bad news is, unlike a Glock 19, the Security 9 requires a thin, flat tool such as a screwdriver or the edge of a shell casing in order to be disassembled. This is a huge plus since factory sights from Glock are total dog doo doo. Glock factory sights should be replaced immediately because they can break and drift out of place so quickly. Drifting just means that it will move within the dovetail that it is mounted in without you wanting it to….thus you will now be aiming in a different spot than intended.

I, personally, would never own a Glock that had not been adjusted in this way. The very slightly wider frame means that the takedown tabs are ever so slightly more recessed than on previous generation models. Therefore you might opt for an extended slide stop with trapezoidal tabs. Note, however, that the slide-stop spring is no longer a leaf spring, but rather a traditional compression spring (which is very hard to install once disassembled!). Other than this issue, the Glock 19 is plenty comfortable enough. With this modification I find the Gen 5 Glock 19 to be very comfortable.

Both have the same length slide, 4-inch barrel, and sight radius. Both are available with optic cuts, both have forward cocking serrations, an ambidextrous slide release latch, and a reversible magazine catch. Most importantly, both have that legendary Glock reliability. Oh, and both come out of the box with infamously bad sights.
