After a few hundred rounds the Cerakote in/on the rail mechanisms wore away enough to allow for flawless function ever since. I must, however, warn you away from these Accusport Cerakoted (erroneously Glock 17 vs Glock 19 called “factory Cerakote”) Glock pistols. The Lipsey’s Cerakote is done far better and is only ever applied to the slide (never the frame or rails).
In fact, one of the earliest Glock variants was the long-slide G17L meant for competitive shooting, which morphed into the G34. And, of course, there are all the customized Glock race guns out there. The drop safety guides the trigger bar in a ramp released during the trigger pull.
The grip texturing on the Glock gen 5 feels good in the hand and isn’t uncomfortable against the skin during IWB carry. My Glock 19 isn’t the easiest pistol I own to conceal, and I’ll admit in the warmer months, I don’t usually carry one due to its size. That said, if I feel for any reason I need more gun, I can (and have) made the Glock 19 work. The Glock 19 gen 5 is compatible with all earlier generations of Glock magazines. The new gen 5 mags have an orange follower to better see the current round count.
The idea behind it is to be able to pull out a mag with your fingertip in the event a mag becomes stuck. Though I have shot many aftermarket altered Glock 19s that had the finger grooves removed. Though the Glock 19 gen 5 grip angle remains the same as it ever was, it is notable that Glock removed the finger grooves. Which, in a way, is a throwback to Gaston Glock and his original gen 1 and gen 2 grips of the 1980s. Glock has attempted to rectify this trigger pull issue with a redesign modification to the trigger connector bar.
Seriously, you can get mags for this gun in just about any gun store on the planet, and there are a huge number of aftermarket magazine manufacturers. My favorite mags are the Magpul PMAGs, but there are a bunch of good ones out there. If you ever take your finger off the trigger at any point before the gun fires, the safeties all re-engage. They also instantly and automatically re-engage after the gun is fired. It’s definitely doable, you’ll just have to work harder than you would with other Glock 19 For Sale sights. However, at the start, the company actually manufactured curtain rods, not firearms.
