The Picatinny rails allow for a variety of lights or other enhancements. I was never a red dot guy until I fired the Glock with the SF guys. The FCU (fire control unit) can be swapped for different grip modules and accommodate different slide sizes to better fit the user’s hands. Like all Glocks, the Gen 4 doesn’t come with a safety switch like many other weapons.
I thought that the GLOCK entry was very cool and a departure from what they otherwise offered. I naturally wanted to put my hands on one and figured that they would eventually offer a version to the general public. The firearm features a 4.02-inch barrel with an overall length of 7.36 inches. The gun weighs about 30 ounces fully loaded with 15 rounds of 9mm. The gun is 1.25 inches wide at its widest and is 5.04 inches tall.
Part of that accuracy is also due to the 19X’s improved Gen5 trigger that GLOCKophiles have been loving so much. GLOCK’s triggers have always been their pistols’ weak point. It’s easy to see why the Glock brand has evolved and changed over the generations. The Gen 3 wasn’t perfect, but it remains one of the classic fighting Glock 17 vs Glock 19 pistol options.

The GLOCK 17 is a common choice for many law-enforcement officers. Unfortunately, at 2.2 lbs, it’s a weightier, full-sized pistol when loaded – leading to a clunky and uncomfortable fit on the hip. Reliability was great, as was the gun’s ability to quickly put fire on plates and paper at close ranges, but it was more difficult to obtain fast follow-up shots. I just can’t for the life of me understand that cutout in the front of the grip. The very source of complaints by some about the G45 — its G17 size grip — is what makes the gun so damn shootable.
This means that you get the benefits of full-sized (less snappy when shooting, larger magazine capacity), and compact (light, easy to conceal-carry). This balance makes it a perfect all-purpose size weapon that can be used for self-defense, competition, or hobby shooting. No matter what I did, neither the 13th nor the 12th rounds would chamber on its own. I was surprised that my first shot was a flyer, but then I realized that I had used my fingertip yet again. Making the proper adjustment, I then rapidly drained four into a group the size of a quarter. The kit includes the minimalist GLOCK speedloader, cleaning tools and a manual in 47 languages (including Sanskrit). There’s also a gun safety booklet tucked into the box, in case a buyer thinks The Four Rules of Gun Safety are a Tolkein thing.
